Advisor Consumer Research

Our Customer Experience Insights team is responsible for representing customer data and customer voice in a wide range of strategic and tactical decisions.  Working with colleagues across Sales & Marketing, we’ll call on your expertise to support the future of our Petro-Points loyalty program, our convenience retailing, fuel and car wash business, email communications, offers, promotions and more.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Represent the voice of our retail and wholesale customer, using market research to support Brand Marketing category and business objectives
  • Work with market research and segmentation and analytics, uncovering actionable ‘so what’ insights to guide business strategy and decisions
  • Utilize market research software tools to author, program and execute research studies to meet project objectives
  • Manage research community health and engagement
  • Assist in the development and evaluation of the annual retail campaign calendar, campaign messaging and testing of communications creative

We’d like to review your application if you have…

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Five years of quantitative market research experience preferred, qualitative experience an asset
  • Experience with statistical software packages such as SPSS, R, or similar tools
  • Experience programming and deploying market research surveys using an online research platform, such as Qualtrics Research XM or similar
  • Experience executing medium complexity studies: written surveys, programmed, deployed and translated analysis into key insights presentations
  • Experience presenting findings and recommendations from market research in a comprehensive and focused manner
  • Experience maintaining research panel health of loyalty members through survey deployment management, panel engagement and the management of incentives
  • A Bachelor’s of Commerce degree, Master of Business Administration (MBA),  or equivalent experience
  • Expert knowledge of market research methodologies and practice and the principles of questionnaire design, either as a practitioner or client / user of market research
  • The demonstrated ability to translate research results into actionable insights and impactful presentations
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to filter and translate study results into insights for business owners and leaders.
  • Excellent presentation skills with ability to adapt results into presentations and lead workshops
  • Proficient time management and project management skills to manage a steady volume of analytical projects and timelines
  • The ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to understand market research project objectives and design research plans

Preference for:

  • Experience with MS Power BI and Environics Analytics PRIZM cluster system
  • An understanding of customer segmentation principles, with experience in Environics Analytics PRIZM scheme

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
  • We require qualified and safety-focused employees for business-critical roles that maintain our commitment to operational excellence and reliable operations.
