In this position, you will have the opportunity to develop your writing and communication skills as you interact with various clients in a dynamic and fast-paced team.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Provide support for content publishing on Suncor’s intranet website
  • Coordinate activities related to content and site development
  • Collaborate with IT Operations to troubleshoot and resolve non-technical issues on the intranet
  • Consult frequently with clients to help them effectively manage their sites
  • Assist in coordinating publications of home page content (new stories, features)
  • Update knowledge articles, videos and other reference materials on the intranet.

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Current enrollment in a formal co-op or internship program in 3rd or 4th year Communication, Marketing or Public Relations program at an accredited post-secondary institution, and returning to full-time studies after the work term

Preference for:

  • Hands-on web content management experience
  • Knowledge of current web technologies
  • Familiarity with online communications trends, writing for the web etc
  • Visual Design (Photoshop or other image editing software)
  • Familiarity with web usage analytics and search engine optimization (SEO)
  • Strong writing, editing, content management, presentation and internal communication experience
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with project and event planning
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Client service mindset with ability to deliver on timelines
  • Exceptionally organized, strong attention to detail and problem solving skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in an exciting environment
  • Exceptional collaboration skills that enables you to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups
  • The ability to anticipate potential problems and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions, as well as having a strong sense of accountability

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • This is an 8 – 12 month work term, from September 2019 – April 2019 or September 2019 – August  2020
