Completions and Commissioning Manager

You will use your expertise to:

  • Lead project completions and commissioning execution from conceptual engineering design through to operational execution and flawless start up, which includes managing design process constraints during conception, strategy development and performance testing
  • Provide functional leadership to technical resources, drawing on multidisciplinary knowledge (i.e. process engineering or technical engineering)
  • Determine resource planning, selection and placement
  • Manage organized and non-organized labour and hold third party contractors accountable for contractual obligations
  • Develop procedures and guidelines
  • Develop and implement new technology to support the effectiveness/efficiency of completions and commissioning (i.e. industry technology not currently utilized within Suncor)
  • Demonstrate strong safety leadership and implement projects from a non-energized state to an energized state

We’d like to review your application if you have…

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • 20 years of related oil and gas industry experience
  • 15 years of progressive completions and commissioning experience in both Brownfield and Greenfield projects
  • Three years of functional leadership experience that has been developed in operational, maintenance or technical plant environments
  • Experience developing financial budgets
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related technical discipline such as Power Engineering
  • The capability to develop completions and commissioning strategies/plans from concept to execution
  • Knowledge of environmental and regulatory legislation
  • Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing

Preference for:

  • Experience developing asset management strategies and implementing maintenance support processes
  • Experience auditing readiness for commissioning and start up, or similar process plant management
  • Strong technical knowledge of operating methodologies of multiple types of process plant assets

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will initially work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • If you are assigned to one of our capital projects, your work location may change to that respective location
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • Frequent business travel to our project sites is required
