Coordinator, Security Systems

You will use your expertise to:

  • Program, configure, troubleshoot and deploy enterprise security systems
  • Ensure the operational readiness of security hardware and software by analyzing problems and leading referrals to appropriate sources of service
  • Develop and administer a proactive preventive maintenance program, maintaining up-to-date documentation of applications, systems, network equipment and other security assets or dependencies
  • Maintain an asset management program to track and report on system status
  • Perform and report on daily enterprise system status for customers and team members
  • Provide telephone and service desk support of technicians, security operational staff, and customers through service request system
  • Provide initial diagnostic troubleshooting and determining root cause of security system problems
  • Create technical and support documentation for users and conducts training as needed

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Five years’ experience in the administration, configuration and operation of access control and video surveillance systems
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • System administrator experience in performing triage on issues and deficiencies, resolving the system problems, analyzing system data and implementing new solutions and processes
  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, conflict management and problem-solving skills

Preference for:

  • Experience supporting corporate IT infrastructure, including IT infrastructure for Electronic Security Systems (ACS / IDS / CCTV / Biometrics)
  • Experience with the installation, troubleshooting and testing of security electronics equipment
  • Post-secondary studies in IT, networks or computer science
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent engagement skills to work with diverse business units, utilizing strong communication and facilitation skills

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • You must be prepared to travel any operational site in the United States, Canada and internationally
