Why you should join us:

As we embark on our digital transformation journey at Suncor, we are looking for experienced LP Optimization Specialists. Join our Value Chain Optimization team to identify and assess strategic optimization opportunities that will unlock significant value from Suncor’s end-to-end integrated value chain.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Develop LP analysis of asset operational and commercial strategies, including major capital decisions and other business/commercial development opportunities
  • Develop and finalize yearly operating plans (budget and business plans) and use these plans to assess business development opportunities with the LP tool (these plans also become the basis for annual refinery operating targets, and the volumetrics are used for monthly financial forecasts by supply orbit)
  • Assess flex sales opportunities, feedstock options, refinery operations including supporting shutdown time period selection, and evaluate make versus buy alternatives in the specific supply orbit
  • Evaluate and assess new modes of operation (regulatory changes or impacts, new feedstocks, product mixes, refinery configuration, operating modes) for creating additional value or determining areas of future growth in the medium term (annual) and in the long term (1-10 years)
  • Identify innovative solutions to remove/minimize financial impacts of current constraints so that we can maximize profit
  • Interface with LP Specialists in other orbits for inter-regional/integrated LP’s so that cross-orbit/cross-business synergies are captured
  • Look for continuous improvement of LP models (accuracy, runtime, analytics), regular monitoring of LP health/back-testing against plant data, as well as ensuring standardization of models
  • Maintain and continuously improvement our LP reporting, back-casting and model stewardship tools
  • Support the exploration, assessment and implementation of future LP technologies

We’d like to review your application if you have…
