This role could be what you are looking for.  Cyber Security requires integration, collaboration in order to enhance Enterprise capability.   In this role, you will oversee and lead integration across IT Operations and OT sites internationally.  You will assist in driving strategy for Cyber Security within the business and functions and support Strategy, Governance, Training and Awareness as it relates to Cyber Security for Suncor.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Manage security requirements across the OT environment with senior leaders and technical staff (internationally)
  • Identify and maintain an understanding of the current state of the OT information security environment, including gaps and risks.  Displays a high degree of originality in devising new approaches and applies existing criteria in creative ways to support individual business lines.
  • Plan, lead and implement opportunities for the improvement of information security through integration across the OT environment and overall EIS program using original approaches
  • Work at an advanced technical level offering Cyber SME to the business through advisory and providing technical guidance to over 40 sites
  • Lead and manage the Technical Integration between IT and OT requirements, including supporting the identification of data point connections for metrics and reporting
  • Monitor third party security feeds, forums, and mailing lists to gather information on vulnerabilities and exploits, and produce actionable intelligence reports
  • Use independent judgment in determining courses of action

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Seven years’ experience with control systems and information management systems in an industrial environment
  • College or university level diploma in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math
  • Professional designation in information security (CISA, CISSP, CISM, GIAC Certifications) 
  • Technical expertise in IT/OT integration and convergence
  • Knowledgeable on industry standards and best practices, especially related to industrial environments in the cybersecurity space, such as NERC CIP and ISA-62443
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to build relationships and work effectively with key diverse stakeholders
  • Strong conflict resolution, negotiation and decision-making abilities with an emphasis on the ability to effectively
  • Alignment with our values: safety above all else, stronger together, operational discipline, curiosity and lifelong learning, and act with integrity

Preference for:

  • Experience in network administration and OT cybersecurity
  • Experience with control systems such as Emerson DeltaV
  • Experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, or electrical power systems

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W. combined with remote work arrangements in response to COVID-19
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • Job requires resiliency to stress, continuous mental concentration with pressure to meet deadlines, and operating targets and adaptability to changing priorities and tasks
