Manager Consumer Insights

Our Customer Experience Insights team is responsible for representing customer data and customer voice in a wide range of strategic and tactical decisions.  Working with colleagues across Sales & Marketing, we’ll call on your expertise to support the future of our Petro-Points loyalty program, our convenience retailing, energy and car wash business, email communications, offers, promotions and more.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Represent the voice of our retail and wholesale customers by deriving actionable insights from data, segmentation, market research business objectives.  
  • Lead the CX Insights CRM email operations, including segmenting and extracting email lists, quality/regulatory control, and scorecarding for over 30 million guest email contacts annually
  • Oversee and coach on a range of analytics plans in support of high complexity Loyalty and Category Management projects
  • Liaise with stakeholders across the organization to translate business objectives into appropriate, useable KPIs
  • Direct and prioritize resources to create dashboards and performance scorecard
  • Steward and sustain data driven segmentation schemes for retail guests and Suncor workforce
  • Manage digital analytics in support of all Petro-Canada web and mobile properties, including e-commerce, transactional and lead generation functionality

We’d like to review your application if you have…

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • 10 years of experience in data analytics with a focus on consumer behavior
  • Five years of team leadership experience in an insights or data analytics role, including responsibility for staffing, development and creating capability roadmaps
  • Experience with market research (client or agency) with proven skills in questionnaire design, programming, sampling methodology, market research analytics
  • Demonstrated expertise in database analytics principles and practices, using statistical methodologies to investigate and surface high value, actionable insights
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex analysis info into well-structured and simple to understand presentations, visualizations, and recommendations
  • Enthusiastic coaching ability to build technical skill sets and mindset of peers, leadership, and colleagues
  • Proficient time management and project management skills to manage a steady volume of analytical projects and timelines
  • Keen written and verbal communication skills

Preference for:

  • Experience using SAS / SQL, Power BI, Python, Databricks or Azure ML
  • Exposure to digital analytic tools including GA360/GA4 and Firebase
  • Strong understanding of KPIs

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
  • We require qualified and safety-focused employees for business-critical roles that maintain our commitment to operational excellence and reliable operations.
