Working closely with our Director of Maintenance and Reliability (M&R) Integration, you will be the senior subject matter expert (SME) and definitive authority for Suncor in the standards, guidelines and standard methodologies associated with maintenance planning and scheduling across our company.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Define, develop and maintain relevant guidance documents to promote clarity and consistency to end-users of M&R Standard minimum requirements, and define functional requirements in collaboration with relevant initiatives and projects to ensure changes are consistent
  • Benchmark internal and external standard methodologies to assess current performance and compliance in order to find opportunities to improve
  • Analyze metrics and monitor performance indicators to ensure compliance and respond to requests for support from sites and / or corporate functions
  • Lead the Suncor Technical Excellence Network (STEN) for their discipline to promote rigorous application of M&R Standard requirements, guidance documents, and work practices throughout the organization
  • Influence decisions around maintenance budgets and spends, reliability, cost performance improvements, and assets
  • Be an indirect advisor to practitioners, cross-functional business partners, networks and forums; provide coaching and mentoring on standard methodologies

We’d like to review your application if you have…

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Eight years in multiple M&R related leadership and practitioner capacities
  • Working knowledge of the wide variety of assets and equipment related to conventional and un-conventional oil and gas extraction, upgrading and processing with experience in mining and downstream; you are considered an industry recognized expert in your field
  • Expert knowledge in the application of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) tools and their configuration at the site and enterprise level
  • Advanced SAP skills
  • Strong leadership and influential abilities coupled with advanced project development and/or execution management skills and the ability to inspire change
  • Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing

Preference for:

  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP)
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Business travel for same-day or multi-day trips to various facilities and industry conferences will be required
