You will use your expertise to:

  • Develop and execute the entire project, using an agile approach, delivering on the end-to-end project plan including milestones, deliverables, schedule, critical path items, and interdependencies to execute the project effectively
  • Lead, build, champion and drive the cultural adoption of agile-based delivery across the Downstream solution delivery organization with focus on the consumer digital value stream
  • Participate in organizational change management activities supporting agile adoption
  • Build agile capability and adoption of agile values, principles and behaviors within product/project teams and the various supporting organizations, including delivery partners and vendor organizations
  • Execute, and coach the various agile ceremonies, work methods and practices to product/project teams including, backlog refinement and planning, sprint planning and retrospectives, sprint and story estimations and agile project resource planning
  • Work side by side with product owners representing the Downstream fostering a collaborative and high performing working product team
  • Identify the required resource base and structure to meet project needs
  • Build collaborative partnerships with project sponsors and teams to enable resource demand planning, change management, and project planning decisions
  • Improve project delivery execution by aligning with our project methodology and using industry standards; report to the project management office (PMO) on project status and quality
  • Manage the financials and forecasting of the project against budgets and raise issues for resolution
  • Present updates on project health to ensure continuous alignment to the project delivery
  • Identify and handle project risks, issues, and dependencies to keep the project on cost and schedule

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Five years of experience as a scrum master, project or program manager with exposure to delivering information technology projects
  • Three years of agile experience with delivery into enterprise organizations
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Management or a combination of other education and equivalent work experience
  • An understanding of enterprise scaling frameworks
  • Proven capability of agile methodologies such as Scrum and agile work practices
  • Strong proficiency with agile toolsets
  • Exceptional ability to influence without authority, coach and develop diverse groups with sound communications
  • Solid understanding of project management fundamentals (ie, scope, time, budget, risk, quality, integration, resource management, etc.)
  • Ability to lead and moderate large cross-functional teams to safely, reliably, cost effectively and efficiently execute project scope
  • You are passionate about adding value with a demonstrated ability to resolve issues and risks and raise appropriately as required

Preference for:

  • Bilingual (English and French)
  • Certificate SMC or an equivalent designation
  • Project Management designation such as PMP, ACMP, or PgMP
  • Knowledge of Retail Business/Technology
  • Working experience and exposure to Mobile application, enterprise resource planning (ERP) projects and Microsoft Dynamics

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W. combined with remote work arrangements in response to COVID-19
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
