Senior Analyst, Corporate Support

The Senior Analyst, Corporate Support will be responsible to ensure effective translation of business requirements to inform future infrastructure strategy, identify continuous improvement opportunities, and will assist the business engagement teams prepare each business area for the implementation of changes required to support strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Provide operations oversight, continuous improvement, and technology planning in support of infrastructure operations specific to Suncor Business Units
  • Monitor business specific operations support performance including the management of support escalation activities on behalf of the business and business engagement teams
  • Assist the central operations support teams translate new business demand into technical requirements, service definitions, service level options, regular service reviews, as well as ensuring that business demand/needs are provided as input into DP&O strategy
  • In collaboration with various teams (LT, Architecture, Infrastructure Operations, and Application Operations), provide technical guidance to the business engagement teams in the development of business strategy, short and long term
  • Participate in and translate technical analysis for post incident reviews (PIR), Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for the business
  • Assist business specific technical coordination of centrally led DP&O Operations initiatives, enhancements, and projects
  • Assist the coordination of business specific Staff augmentation requirements ensuring quality, scope, and schedule meet business expectations
  • Investigating and communicating resolution of service request escalations
  • Identification of operational excellence (process and efficiency) improvements and opportunities
  • Analyzing trends from service requests or common issues from business groups to implement improvements
  • Participate in on call rotation

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • College/University graduate (Business, Computer Science or IT degree) with at least 5-7 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 years Oil and Gas industry experience required
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Broad technical knowledge of infrastructure operations and infrastructure technologies including desktop computing, mobile computing, server / storage technologies, networks, structured cabling, telephony, and messaging systems
  • Strong conflict identification and resolution skills
  • Ability to work effectively with various sizes of highly focused and geographically dispersed teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based, customer-centered environment
  • A self-starter that can work with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and technical skills
  • Sense of urgency for resolution of key issues/initiatives
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Professionalism, strong planning and organizational skills

Preference for:

  • ITIL Foundation certification
  • Project management experience

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
  • You will partake in a 24x7 on-call rotation
