Senior Analyst, Finance and Planning

Why you should join us:

Reporting to the Manager, Regional Services Finance & Planning, you will provide key support in performance monitoring, measurement and cost improvement for our maintenance services teams.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Provide performance analysis, stewardship reporting, variance analysis and support for key financial processes
  • Act as a single point of contact into finance
  • Communicate the financial results and other deliverables to the Maintenance Shared Services (MSS) teams
  • Support the business through month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning
  • Identify and participate in performance improvement projects and develop key metrics
  • Coach cost centre owners in understanding their role and the use of the financial information and performance metrics
  • Document and improve existing processes

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • 5 or more years of relevant analytical experience, including business analysis and synthesis of financial and quantitative data from several sources
  • Bachelor degree, preferably in business, accounting, economics, or engineering
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preference for:

  • Proficiency in SAP reporting (BW, BOBJ) and Microsoft products (including Power BI)
  • You collaborate with others to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • You are a strategic thinker, combining your understanding of business, industry and  operational factors, and sharpened analytical skills to describe and interpret data; you have a strong continuous improvement mindset

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
