Senior Analyst, Master Data Services

In this position, you are responsible for the analysis of Master Data Change Requests (MDCRs) and ensuring that the implementation of requests received is carried out in accordance with the Master Data Design (MDD) documents and the appropriate procedures. You can anticipate potential problems and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions, and you have a good sense of accountability.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Perform all the duties of a master data administrator and provide mentorship to junior members of the team
  • Analyze requests to ensure that duplicate data is not created, and perform cold-eyes reviews of data changes
  • Ensure that data in SAP remains consistent with MDD documents and review the data once it is set up, ensuring that everything is done correctly
  • Capture data for reporting and analysis and perform data profiling as a means of maintaining data integrity and ensuring alignment to standards
  • Function as a Queue Monitor for the two team inboxes: monitoring workload levels, allocating requests to the team for completion, and resolving issues that arise
  • Work with other internal partners to initiate issue resolution, and participate in ongoing design and continuous improvement of the processes and applications
  • Deliver accurate and in-depth analytical feedback to the business and to the Governance organization on process compliance for these activities
  • Coordinate ServiceNow (SNOW) request creation, analysis, assignment, and/or completion.

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Three years of relevant professional experience
  • Advanced skills in SAP and hands on experience in the area of master data
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a continuous improvement mindset; you are able to seek greater knowledge and understanding of the systems and process in the workplace
  • Tight-knit collaboration skills that enable you to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups

Preference for:

  • Post-Secondary Education
  • Understanding of Suncor’s businesses, organizational structure and operating model(s).

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are typically a 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • This position has a scheduled evening shift rotation and a weekend/holiday “on-call” rotation
