Senior Analyst, Sales and Marketing Accounting

Job Overview

Are you a CPA who can lead and collaborate with business and Finance stakeholders on key projects, contracts and initiatives? Reporting to the manager, sales and marketing accounting, you will be responsible for integrating new business opportunities into existing processes, and act as the key integration point on process improvements, information system flows, documentation and technology advancement.

Key Accountabilities

  • Oversee, and act as the primary contact for, the intake of new sales and marketing business initiatives and projects
  • Advise on how business processes should effectively and efficiently integrate with Finance processes, information systems and accounting policies, engaging subject matter experts as required
  • Lead (as the Finance expert) the flow of critical operational and financial systems, processes and SAP data flows linking project outcomes to key integration points with such systems as Point-of-Sale, Web and Loyalty
  • Complete critical contract reviews highlighting key accounting, process and standardization opportunities
  • Drive continuous improvement and champion of processes within sales and marketing accounting, cash and banking and other critical Finance groups providing documentation support as required and ensuring smooth transition of initiatives and improvements to sustainment within the team
  • Collaborate with Finance groups impacted by common business initiatives
  • Lead automation initiatives as they materialize within Finance or in support of the business and participate in financial system enhancements.
  • Provide backup support to the team leads as required

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Seven years of progressive financial analysis and accounting experience
  • Experience in contract review or contract negotiations is preferred
  • Bachelor degree in finance or accounting, or an equivalent education
  • Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) Designation

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of the SAP financial modules and key reporting tools
  • Knowledge of the retail and wholesale petroleum businesses
  • Exceptional verbal, written communication, facilitation skills and the ability to partner and converse effectively with key business partners
  • Aptitude for understanding and tracing data flows through complex/intricate Information Technology systems
  • Proven continuous improvement mindset looking for opportunities to enhance processes
  • You thrive in ambiguity and are successful with cross-functional teams and establishing relationships based on trust and respect
  • You are a highly motivated self-starter with proven non-authoritative leadership style
