Senior Data Analyst

Job Overview

Reporting to the manager, stewardship and benchmarking, you will develop effective stewardship for all our supply chain management (SCM) teams by collecting, reviewing, analyzing, and presenting data relevant to SCM activities.  You will help us to effectively execute our strategies and initiatives through strong analytics and the development of cost modelling.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with our SCM teams to develop appropriate stewardship and market intelligence to assist in the creation of strategies that provide cost improvement, operational efficiency, and cost transparency
  • Collect data from multiple sources, lead analytical efforts, and build cost models to support strategic initiatives
  • Develop stewardship dashboards to analyze performance as it relates to SCM using advanced analytics and predictive modeling
  • Conduct marketplace analysis evaluating topics such as improvement opportunities for our acquisition process and risks within the SCM environment
  • Collaborate with market intelligence team to leverage applicable information during sourcing activities
  • Conduct supplier analysis to present and potential suppliers to our cross-functional sourcing teams
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across our SCM organization

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Minimum five years of experience in data analytics roles
  • Experience using visualization software (ie. SAP Lumira, Tableau, Power BI, etc)
  • In-depth qualitative and quantitative analysis and planning experience within the oil and gas industry is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, data science, finance, mathematics, computer engineering, or related is preferred
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the aptitude to build strong business relationships
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and connect to strategy and opportunities for cost reduction
  • Understanding of business performance management
  • You collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • You constantly ask what could go wrong and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions and learn to anticipate potential problems

Working Conditions

  • This position is located in Calgary, Alberta with a Monday to Friday work schedule
