Are you a strategic thinker who enjoys bringing people together? As the Senior Machine Learning Operations Architect, you will collaborate with data scientists and data solution architects to meet our end goals. You will be the technical expert responsible for designing, maintaining, decommissioning and orchestrating machine learning models between the development and production environments.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Develop and execute on machine learning designs and strategies, and integrate those into the broader program and enterprise digital strategies
  • Oversee the end-to-end performance of the machine learning model solutions
  • Contribute to the resource and technology roadmap and any capital funding required to progress those solutions
  • Make decisions related to critical events that impact the performance of the models
  • Maintain relationships with senior level business partners and engage them in the performance and enhancement of the model performance
  • Define and track product success metrics and update tactical and strategic plans accordingly

We’d like to review your application if you have…

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • 10 years of software engineering and system design experience
  • Five years of experience with major cloud computing services
  • Five years of experience in the integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) of machine learning models
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent education
  • Deep knowledge of machine learning frameworks (E.g. Tensorflow)
  • Fluency in SQL, Python and scripting languages
  • Strong collaboration skills that enable you to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups
  • Alignment with our values: safety above all else, stronger together, operational discipline, curiosity and lifelong learning, and act with integrity

Preference for:

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W
  • Your life outside of work is important to us, and we value a healthy work/life balance – our typical hours of work are 8-5, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility
  • We are so invested in building advanced analytics skills within our organization that we've created the Analytics Academy to provide training to employees through instructor-led courses, e-learning, communities of practice, etc.
  • Relocation support will be provided
