Specialist, Digital Solution Delivery

Our Digital Solutions Team is growing and we are looking for an experienced individual to lead and participate in business related activities to address day to day business process issues, support change initiatives and software upgrades, and participate in major system upgrade projects.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Work in a Pod Team model (Agile, DevOps) to execute and participate in Incident, Problem and Change Management, Enhancements and Operational Projects.
  • Act as the point of escalation and manage the resolution process of critical, high-priority issues in production systems.
  • Consult with Senior Management on risk management, safeguarding integrated enterprise applications operations landscape, development of technical/operations roadmaps in SAP and other development technologies.
  • Partner with the Business Functions, and Solution Delivery teams to ensure quality and an effective delivery.

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Five years of experience applying business analyst techniques to build business cases and gather requirements used in creating process and technical solutions
    • Must have the ability to pass a background check
  • A University degree or College diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related discipline
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project), MS SharePoint, Jira or related tools
  • A deep understanding of agile delivery
  • An understanding of oil and gas business processes and their linkage to technology
  • Demonstrated experience working among cross-disciplinary teams to build a consensus, ensuring that analysis and implementation is focused on the most critical requirements, and considers business value, cost to deliver, and schedule
  • A proven adaptive work style with the ability to solicit and accept feedback
  • Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing

Preference for:

  • An agile-minded individual with a strength in business analysis to join, contribute broadly to, and improve the outcomes produced in a cross-functional team.
    • Deep understanding of host systems, applications and interfaces; systems and network design; agile and waterfall project methodologies.
    • Strong working knowledge of database concepts and working knowledge with SQL.
  • Individual should demonstrate a commitment to learning, flexible attitude and openness to lean in and support solution delivery in multiple areas in developing and strengthening their capabilities.
  • Demonstrated customer focus, and a mindset focused on quality, with the goal of shortening cycles to delivery through effective user stories, product backlog identification, validation and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience working an Agile and Dev-Ops, or can demonstrate an understanding of these operating models.
  • Ability to facilitate / participate in design thinking sessions with multiple stakeholders and key project resources to find desirable solutions for clients and define the optimal end products.
  • Working with Integrated Teams to participate in solution reviews, in particular reviews of the designs, prototypes and other work products to ensure they fulfill client expectations.
  • Identifying and remediating defects within the development and delivery process.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry preferred.

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
