We are transitioning from an outsourced and offshore provider to a fully in-house IT group for our Cloud and Infrastructure team! Do you want to actively contribute to operating a diverse multi-site storage environment? You will be involved in the successful transition from an outsourced to in-house IT function and ensure the stable operations of our diverse storage environment. You will then participate in building new solutions such as automation and new features/capabilities on premise and in the cloud and participate in cross-functional initiatives.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Assist with transitioning away from our outsourced (offshore) operational team to ensure smooth transition, technical knowledge transfer, necessary documentation and streamlined process
  • Respond to tickets and alerts and resolve operational incidents
  • Provide excellent customer service to application, infrastructure, and product teams
  • Plan and execute changes to our infrastructure environment, minimize risk and operational impacts and ensure that we mitigate and understand cross-functional impacts to other infrastructure components
  • Execute on various operational activities, such as provisioning, patching, environment maintenance, and remediating technical debt

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Hands-on experience with  the administration and design of EMC Storage Arrays (HyperMax/PowerMax, PowerStore, VPLEX, Unity, VNX, Isilon/PowerScale)
  • Experience in DR replication technologies from EMC (SRDF/S, SRDF Metro, VPLEX metro, RecoverPoint)
  • Experience with Brocade Fibre Channel SAN administration and troubleshooting
  • Experience with NetApp ONTAP
  • Experience with Cloud storage offerings from AWS or Azure
  • In-depth knowledge of NAS file share permissions (SMB AD integration, NFS POSIX permissions)
  • Certification in Administration or Architecture for AWS or Azure
  • The ability to effectively communicate to a wide variety of audiences including multi-functional teams at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new cloud technology

Preference for:

  • Experience with migrating from traditional on-premises to cloud services
  • Experience in automation using Ansible, Terraform, Azure ARM & Azure Automation 
  • Scripting experience – Powershell, UNIX, or PowerBI
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the ability to be “on-call” 24/7 to support operational incidents and service level commitments on a rotation
  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave SW
