You will use your expertise to:

  • Develop your writing, communications channel coordination, and strategic communications planning skills while being a key part of a dynamic, fast paced team.
  • Coordinate and implement tactics on key communications tools such as articles (internal and external) intranet pages, digital signage and broad-distribution email accounts
  • Support content strategy and development by writing and editing
  • Support the development and implementation of communications plans for projects and initiatives as required

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Current full-time enrolment in 3rd or 4th year of a degree in Communications, Marketing, or Public Relations at an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Strong writing, editing, content management and internal communications experience is an asset
  • Project and event planning experience an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Solid understanding of communication planning
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Client service mindset with ability to deliver on deadlines
  • Exceptionally organized, strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well on a team and independently
  • Ability to take feedback constructively and to improve from it
  • Poise, diplomacy, professionalism and a positive attitude
  • Alignment with our values: safety above all else, stronger together, operational discipline, curiosity and lifelong learning, and act with integrity

Preference for:

  • Strong social media, video, photography and Adobe Creative Suite experience
  • Knowledge of SharePoint and content management systems
  • Professional association membership is an asset (i.e. IABC, CPRS)

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • This is an 8 or 12-month work term starting in January 2022
  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W. where we provide a hybrid work model to manage office-based positions with flexibility to work remotely as schedules allow.
