Team Leader, Supply Chain Management

Job Overview

Reporting to the manager, procurement, you will lead a high-functioning supply chain management (SCM) team supporting end to end service and material requirements for Fort Hills small capital projects.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the SCM supply operations team through all phases of planning, scheduling, coordinating and procurement to ensure material and service availability for individual project requirements as well as the project program.
  • Collaborate with all internal SCM functions to ensure the realization of our business requirements
  • Represent all internal SCM functions to the small capital projects team
  • Apply critical thinking to support the resolution of complex SCM issues
  • Drive compliance with our policies, processes, procedures, and strategies on an ongoing basis
  • Identify and support the implementation of continuous improvement opportunities
  • Provide mentorship to individual team members to support continued development.

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Five to ten years of multi-discipline SCM experience, including leadership roles
  • Experience working in the oil and gas industry is preferred
  • Post-secondary education in business or supply chain management is preferred
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Experience using SAP

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to lead, motivate and mentor a team of professionals with a real passion for developing their skills and competencies
  • Strong knowledge of change management principles and application is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of service and material procurement, contracts, materials management, and contractor performance management
  • You actively collaborate to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • You act with integrity and hold others accountable, and expect others to do the same

Working Conditions

  • This position is based in Calgary, Alberta at the Suncor Energy Centre
  • Regular travel to Fort Hills will be required
