Team Leader, Workforce Planning

Job Overview

As the team lead, workforce planning you will be responsible for leading a team of analysts supporting the corporate wide workforce planning processes and Talent Acquisition reporting. You will work closely with a broad range of Human Resources (HR), Finance and business colleagues to support workforce initiatives and stewardship in support of Suncor’s business strategies.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for managing the corporate-wide governance and execution of the workforce planning process
  • Responsible for supporting workforce strategy initiatives and talent acquisition reporting and stewardship
  • Work with HR strategic partners and the business to provide data, insights and recommendations around workforce implications
  • Identify solutions and recommendations supporting external labour data requirements and internal analysis ensuring that solutions identified support the overall goals
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders on ad-hoc analytics, contract on scope and deliverables, complete ad hoc queries for data analysis and provide insights to transform data to actionable intelligence
  • Identify, communicate and fix data integrity and system issues as necessary

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Minimum eight years progressive experience supporting complex programs and initiatives within a variety of business areas
  • Exceptional reporting and analytical skills with experience using SAP, SuccessFactors and OrgPublisher
  • Demonstrated analytical skills in assessing and reviewing processes to identify options, best practices, and opportunities to improve service delivery (including Microsoft Excel and Word skills, combined with the ability to analyze multiple data sources)
  • Robust understanding of business processes (e.g., budgeting and business planning) and experience working across the entire HR operating model
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline preferred
  • Master’s degree or PMP designation would be considered an asset

  • Ability to think critically and strategically to identify problems and implement innovative solutions
  • Exceptional attention to detail and continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to build strong relationships and consult with key stakeholders to identify their business opportunities, partner and influence them when identifying problems and implementing solutions in order to lead work across multidisciplinary teams to accomplish shared outcomes
  • Skilled at team management by setting appropriate priorities and timelines and independently manage workload and multiple projects
  • Strong leadership skills required to foster a team environment that drives employee engagement, productivity and retention
