Job Overview

Are you passionate about working in a fast paced environment, building positive relationships, problem solving, working within a positive team environment, and do you possess strong integrity? Reporting to the senior analyst business control and optimization, you will be responsible for optimizing and directing safe truck movement operations for the crude truck unloading docks while minimizing costs and maintaining scheduled shipments.

Key Accountabilities

  • Build positive relationships with multiple carriers, producers and Suncor personnel to optimize the transportation function to directly contribute to the US business earnings
  • Maintain daily load reconciliation spreadsheet by collecting associated data, collecting and entering missing data using truck tickets and checking for and correcting errors
  • Optimize miles hauled based on lease location, carrier home base and destination and look for ways to improve processes
  • Optimize fleet utilization by continually assessing your dispatch plan and minimizing site inventory runouts
  • Craft and finalize in a timely fashion the dispatch plan for various carriers
  • Complete daily reconciliation of truck tickets
  • Manage all ticket corrections and errors
  • Monitor daily inventory requirements to ensure an efficient and reliable dispatch operation

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in truck scheduling and dispatching or industry experience
  • Upstream or downstream industry experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

 Skills and Knowledge:

  • You possess strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value, and capable of working independently to manage your time to meet deadlines
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products specifically Excel
  • Strong knowledge of scheduling, logistics operations and risk management
  • You do not take or tolerate shortcuts and if the procedure is incorrect, you fix it
  • You react quickly to problems to resolve them before they advance

 Working Conditions

  • Hours are between 5:30 am to 3:30 pm with a rotating shift schedule of 10-hour days including weekends and stat holidays that fall within the shift schedule. In addition, you are open to providing after hour support and answer calls when necessary
  • You thrive in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities, challenging demands, and strict deadlines
