Retail Risk Auditor

Do you want the opportunity to build your own schedule, work from your home office and travel around the Colorado area conducting financial and procedural audits for our company-operated retail fuel sites? You will also collect data and prepare reports, conduct trend analysis and forecasting and present written and verbal reports to internal and external stakeholders on your findings to help mitigate financial loss and liability impacts.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Perform regular scheduled risk based audits to our car wash/loyalty program, fuel inventory, merchandise invoices, environmental checklists, band deposits, licenses and permits, security, image etc.
  • Ensure that Suncor is realizing proper inventory adjustments and that appropriate and timely action is implemented to eliminate control gaps
  • Support branding and de-branding IT processes for Branded marketers
  • Merchandise Pricebook input and changes with stakeholder collaboration
  • Track and apply all retail merchandise supplier rebates
  • Oversee and maintain submission of all retail license applications/renewals
  • Audit and reconcile fuel deliveries and stick shortages
  • Perform regular merchandise coupon reconciliations
  • Analyze and give feedback for operator security programs that creates an environment of operational discipline

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Three years of experience in retail management or in an analytical role
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • A valid driver’s licence with a driving record acceptable to Suncor
  • Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office suite with strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong planning, organization and prioritization skills with a self-starter attitude
  • Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing

Preference for:

  • Retail and/or risk/financial analysis experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of your home office
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • You will travel with a company provided car extensively throughout the Colorado region visiting our retail sites
