Job Overview

Reporting to the operations manager, non-producing assets (NPA), you will be responsible for the execution and on-site delivery of labour services and coordination of coveralls. You will provide oversight of the contracts that will offer the labour services and coveralls to the various operations and maintenance teams at Fort Hills.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead labour service and coverall providers within your direct area of responsibility in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner
  • Coordinate labour services for operations and maintenance teams throughout the site
  • Responsible for daily oversight of vendor costs to ensure budget objectives are achieved
  • Ensure contractor performance is in accordance with the contract and operational excellence management system
  • Audit performance of service providers to ensure compliance with environment, health and safety (EH&S) as well as contract obligations
  • Participate in or lead incident investigations
  • Implement operation programs and strategies
  • Monitor key performance indicator performance and address any deviation from targets
  • Provide direction for the business plan to reliably meet or exceed performance expectations in safety, environment, and cost
  • Ensure compliance to our policies and standards, including the management of change process and maintenance business processes, and provide input into the development of area-specific procedures and standards

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education

  • Three or more years of experience working in an infrastructure and/or support services leadership role, in mining, oil and gas or similar industrial environment
  • Experience working with waste management, grounds maintenance or EH&S would be an asset
  • A certificate or diploma in a relevant technical field or equivalent operational experience
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of OH&S codes and other applicable federal, provincial and municipal regulations
  • Proficient in manpower and resource loading
  • Previous experience with SAP or other enterprise software is an asset
  • Possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop strong cross-functional working relationships
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience and effective team leadership skills
  • Commitment to environment, health and safety and the ability to lead by example

Working Conditions

  • This is a camp-based position at the Fort Hills site
  • The shift schedule is a seven days on/ seven days off rotation
