Mine Entry Coordinator

Job Overview

Reporting to the manager, mine operations production, you will oversee the implementation of the mine entry standard and its interpretation at our Fort Hills site. You will actively manage the qualifications of up to 1,000 employees and contractors.

Key Accountabilities

  • Allocate tier authorization and enroll employees for appropriate learning events and activities
  • Maintain all mine entry qualifications through the learning management system and Lennel system
  • Perform audits on mine entry reports, produce stewardship reports, and take action to actively restrict mine entry
  • Manage mine drive classroom training, including sign-in sheets, training requests, and tier card issuing upon course completion
  • Support growth and program development and build positive relationships within the team and external vendors

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Minimum five years of experience working with contractors and work scopes in a mining operations environment
  • Experience delivering safety messages to large audiences
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of contractor relations and work scope management
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • You have outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to make decisions and to stand behind them
  • You collaborate well in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value

Working Conditions

  • This is a camp-based position at the Fort Hills site
  • The shift schedule is a 7 days on/7 days off rotation

Fort Hills, a joint venture between Suncor, Total, and Teck Resources, is the largest undeveloped oil sands mining asset in the region.
