Onboarding Liaison

Job Overview

Do you have the ability to speak and present in front of large groups in a way that is engaging and respectful? Reporting to the Supervisor of On-boarding & Safety Learning, you will assist and support the on-boarding of new hires and be responsible for delivering best-in-class new hire orientations and classroom safety training.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide support, coordination and organization for the delivery of the three-day orientation
  • Engage employees to reach their full potential in a timely manner while recognizing and supporting adult learning styles
  • Support to other Onboarding Liaisons by becoming familiar with the different areas and processes, ensuring coverage while away
  • Provide monthly updates and maintain the visual board, provide updates to necessary recipients, and attend bi-weekly team meetings
  • Pull 30-90-180 day data, develop slide decks and send final Key Performance Indicator reports to appropriate partners each month
  • Maintain presentation slides and other materials such as agendas, activity sheets and course sign-in forms for Journey to Zero and Learning to Lead
  • Work with team members to clean up and maintain LiveLink folders, update the Onboarding page on The Core
  • Enter course completions in the Learning Management System for courses taught
  • Use discretion when handling privileged and confidential information

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • 2-5 years within a similar role in the petroleum industry
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or Safety Training

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; SAP experience is ideal
  • Exceptional relationship building skills and you maintain close working relationships with other employees/groups outside of the business unit
  • Strong listening and communication skills with outstanding problem solving and organizational skills
  • Initiative and assertiveness in a respectful and professional manner
  • Continuous improvement mindset and strive to ensure this

Working Conditions

  • This is a camp-based position at our Fort Hills site, with a 4 days on, 3 days off schedule

Fort Hills, a joint venture between Suncor, Total, and Teck Resources, is the largest undeveloped oil sands mining asset in the region.
