Job Overview

Reporting to the manager, supply chain management (SCM), you will be responsible for SCM operations including planning, scheduling, coordination and procurement. You will understand and balance requests for materials and services, examine the needs of the business units and ensure fulfilment in accordance with the SCM operational model.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support end to end SCM processes, including scope of work development, sourcing, evaluating/negotiating proposals, purchase order creation/ lifecycle management and contractor onboarding 
  • Develop, manage and execute against a procurement plan
  • Collaborate with business partners and key stakeholder groups to manage and prioritize work plan
  • Support planned and ad hoc procurement of materials and services in alignment with SCM and maintenance/reliability strategies
  • Support contractor performance management
  • Work with suppliers, business unit representatives, warehouse, inventory and category management teams
  • Act as the SCM representative to the business, and as the face of the business unit to other groups within supply chain
  • Contribute to and maintain tracking tools and stewardship reporting
  • Attend meetings with key partners, acting as a representative for the SCM operations or Fort Hills team
  • Mentor and coach junior team members to develop their skillsets

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Minimum four years SCM experience
  • Experience in SAP, working with purchase orders and work orders
  • Experience managing and procuring services considered an asset
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Apply critical thinking to develop strategies and develop or contribute to solutions for medium to high complexity activities
  • Make ethical and professional judgments based on industry and Suncor standards
  • Ability to interact with category management, other procurement specialists and leadership on issues
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrate organizational skills to balance priorities, deliver against key milestones and manage tight timelines

Working Conditions

  • This is a camp-based position at the Fort Hills site
  • The shift schedule is a seven days on/ seven days off rotation
