You will use your expertise to:

  • Support a site-based Construction team, understand and balance requests for project material and service requirements and ensure fulfilment in accordance with our operating model, SCM processes and project schedule requirements
  • Create purchase orders and manage the end-to-end purchase order lifecycle including material and service delivery to meet construction schedules
  • Demonstrate a “take charge” approach by identifying and mitigating service and material supply risks which could impact construction schedules
  • Use your proficiency in Contract Administration to perform activities such as payment attestation, change management, Contractor Performance Management and project closeout
  • Represent Construction’s contracting requirements in procurement strategy planning and represent the SCM function in cross=functional initiatives
  • Provide mentorship to junior SCM staff, while educating internal and external stakeholders on supply chain processes
  • Support continuous improvement opportunities which will drive value for SCM and the overall project team

We’d like to review your application if you have…

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Four years of procurement and contract administration experience
  • A post-secondary education, preferably in business, supply chain and/or project management
  • A deep understanding of materials and services procurement, contracting and contract deliverables, as well as materials management and transportation processes
  • Proficiency in SAP or a similar type of enterprise software
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders
  • A demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and other technology based tools

Preference for:

  • Oil and gas, finance, or project controls experience
  • Project management certification (e.g. PMP, CAPM)
  • You are a highly motivated self-starter, who is willing to show initiative and take action
  • You are an organized problem solver with the ability to think and act strategically
  • You offer a continuous improvement mindset to define, plan and implement opportunities that drive value for SCM and the overall project team

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our camp-based Fort Hills mining site, located in Alberta’s Athabasca region, 90 kilometres north of Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • The shift schedule is a seven days on / seven days off rotation
  • On occasion, you will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
