Asset Integrity Engineer - Piping

You will provide effective risk-based inspection strategies and integrity assessment services for the operational integrity and reliability of piping systems in accordance with our procedures and standards.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Develop inspection strategies for piping systems
  • Perform piping systems integrity assessment, ensuring effective review of inspection data, results trending and remaining life evaluation.
  • Ensure the mechanical integrity conditions for equipment within your scope
  • Provide technical scopes and recommendations to support engineering decisions for a sustainable and reliable operation
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement processes to optimize our piping program
  • Collaborate with metallurgy and reliability engineering on piping data and trend analysis to support root cause evaluation

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Three or more years of industry experience, preferably in Oilsands, refining or hydrocarbon processing
  • Knowledge and experience in piping integrity program, corrosion mechanisms, risk assessment and piping inspections, is preferred.
  • Post-secondary education in engineering, preferably with Metallurgy or mechanical specialization
  • Professional Engineer (PEng) designation considered as asset
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Preference for:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and working knowledge of Meridium, RBMI, PCMS, and SAP
  • Well-developed critical thinking skills, with an ability to apply logic and challenge assumptions
  • Expert analytical skills for analyzing statistical data, conducting condition assessment and the ability for trending and analysis to drive conclusions and recommendations
  • A questioning attitude, constantly asking what is not right and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions and learn to anticipate potential problems
  • Excellent collaboration with other groups in order to achieve the best results in a timely matter and deliver the most value

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Base Plant in Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Hours of work are a regular 40work week, Monday to Friday
