Job Overview

Imagine a job where you can use your strong, positive work ethic and passion for working with trades to coach, monitor and audit maintenance execution activities. Reporting to the supervisor, maintenance, you will maintain high standards and processes in coordinating and prioritizing key maintenance tasks in our fixed plant.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage multi-disciplinary jobs of hourly and contract tradesmen employed in the repair, adjustment, modification, removal and/or installation of plant equipment and facilities and ensure the integrity of work execution
  • Monitor contractor performance management
  • Assist with materials or parts sourcing and procurement for found work and/or break-in’s as needed
  • Oversee safety audits, promote safety initiatives and assist the supervisor with chairing morning toolbox talks and safety meetings
  • Investigate maintenance-related incidents and implement findings
  • Communicate the daily work plan strategy with your supervisor and ensure jobs are in compliance and executed according to the job plan with relevant quality control processes
  • Work with quality assurance / quality control personnel to ensure maintenance of standards

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education

  • A minimum of two years of experience in supervision or field coordination in a multi-discipline trade environment
  • Experience conducting safety or incident investigations
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or valid Alberta Journeyman Certificate or an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Certificate mechanical or electrical trade; attach your Journeyman / Red Seal ticket with your application in order to be considered
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

Skills and Knowledge

  • Exceptional technical, decision-making and analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills including SAP, Excel and Word
  • Highly motivated to achieve the best results and deliver the most value with the teams you work with
  • You hold others accountable, and expect others to do the same
  • Strong communication skills to form relationships with diverse groups of people competing for resources

Working Conditions

  • This position is safety sensitive
  • This is a Fort McMurray based position at the base plant site
  • Your time will be split 80/20 with field and office-based work
  • The shift schedule is a 7 days on/7 days off rotation (7 days on, 7 days off, 7 nights on, 7 nights off; 12 hour shifts)
