Coordinator, Maintenance

Job Overview

Reporting to the manager, operations, you will be the contact point for the operations team relating to any ongoing maintenance execution, planning, scheduling, prioritization and outage/turnaround planning, while ensuring a safe environment.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work with and take input from the operations coordinator to fully understand work notifications regarding work notification approval, priority, requirements, risks and operational impacts
  • Collaborate with the maintenance organization to support planning, scheduling and field monitoring of scheduled and break-in maintenance activities
  • Provide the cross-functional team with feedback and recommendations to turnaround and major equipment outage planning, scoping, and support activities
  • Partner with the operations coordinator to ensure all field operations are synchronized with the maintenance schedule requirements
  • Coordinate routine maintenance activities by establishing priorities, reviewing the backlog report, managing workload, and ensuring that initiatives are applied in a consistent manner
  • Ensure compliance to maintenance procedures, processes and tracking tools for the corrective and preventative maintenance program
  • Prepare the maintenance budget in conjunction with engineering, operations, reliability and inspection representatives. Review the budget against actual expenditures on a monthly basis to predict year-end maintenance cost and recommend appropriate action to achieve maintenance budget
  • Represent maintenance in the cross-functional team, providing the maintenance viewpoint into all discussions and decision and gather feedback to find opportunities for improving the overall plant reliability and work order life cycle

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • 10 or more years of experience in maintenance/operations in supervision, coordinating or planning in the oil and gas industry
  • Commissioning, start-up and shut-down, or turnaround experience is an asset
  • Experience in process safety management
  • Experience with the SAP computerized maintenance system to correctly process orders/notifications, manage materials, plan and schedule tasks of jobs, and authorize corrective and preventative work orders
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

  • You continually seek greater knowledge about the systems, processes and hazards in the workplace, in order to continuously improve our procedures
  • You constantly ask what could go wrong and check for unusual conditions and learn to anticipate potential problems  

Working Conditions

  • This position has been identified as safety sensitive
  • The shift schedule is Monday to Thursday
  • This is a camp-based position at the Firebag site
