Job Overview

Are you a self-starter, passionate about customer service and continuous improvement? Then we have the role for you! Reporting to the supervisor, contractor onboarding, you will be responsible for the activation of contractor pre-mobilization and onboarding, to ensure contractor services are delivered in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner.

Key Accountabilities

  • Build positive relationships with maintenance leaders, supply chain and maintenance planning in order to prioritize, schedule and resource all onboarding work
  • Request activation for contractors with the central data group
  • Coordinate all onboarding activities including lodging, training requirements and vehicle passes
  • Communicate onboarding requirements to field logistics for processing accommodation requests
  • Monitor upcoming contractor mobilizations and provide notice to contractor administration for large volume events
  • Support the area business unit leaders by ensuring their contractors are mobilized and are day one ready
  • Identify issues and opportunities associated with the contractor onboarding process and make improvement recommendations

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Five or more years of experience in an administrative role within the mining, oil and gas or similar industrial environment
  • Experience requesting network/IS access, training, camp and travel for contractors is preferred
  • Office administration diploma or certificate is preferred
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)  

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
  • SAP experience is an asset
  • You work collaboratively with diverse groups, and have strong conflict management and decision-making skills
  • You have strong communication and customer services skills

Working Conditions

  • The shift schedule is a Monday to Friday, 40 hour work week
  • There will be a requirement of additional hours during key maintenance events
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory
  • Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible candidates
