Cost Analyst

Are you passionate about financial analysis, providing interpretation and collaborating with business leaders?  We are looking for an outstanding cost analyst to help support our business units, supply chain, finance, and external vendors to ensure accurate and effective reporting and providing high quality cost information.

 You will use your expertise to:

  • Guide operating teams to increase financial acumen
  • Support cost saving initiatives to drive better business performance
  • Provide weekly financial analysis to your group and forecast monthly outcomes
  • Lead the annual budgeting process for your assigned area
  • Collaborate with the business and finance to settle month end adjustments
  • Capture and report on vendor costs and initiate reconciliation activities
  • Assist the business with adherence to the Maintenance and Reliability standard

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Three years or more of experience in maintenance cost and performance
  • Exceptional skills in Microsoft office and SAP
  • A post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Strong collaboration skills that enables you to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups
  • Committed to excellent customer service to a dynamic group of internal and external partners
  • Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing

Preference for:

  • Strong presentation skills and experience

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory. Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible individuals
