Job Overview

If you are passionate about safety, building positive relationships and working within a very engaging team environment, then we have the role for you. Reporting to the supervisor, you will provide support to the maintenance shop within our mine equipment maintenance area.

Key Accountabilities

  • Follow all processes and procedures to ensure the safety of our people, equipment and the environment
  • Move and stock supplies and materials
  • Clean parts and equipment for return to warehouse using hotsy wands and shop chemicals
  • Utilize a forklift when required
  • Assist with housekeeping duties
  • Complete general maintenance duties as required
  • Clean mobile equipment as required

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Experience in mining or an industrial workplace is preferred
  • Completed forklift training
  • Completed OSSA and CSTS training
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Possess a strong safety focus and exceptional safety record
  • Strong social, organizational, and communication skills
  • You are a highly motivated self-starter who collaborate with others and maintains positive relationships across different teams
  • You make decisions with integrity in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • You are a problem solver who constantly asks what could go wrong and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions and learn to anticipate potential problems

Working Conditions

  • The shift schedule is a six days on/six days off rotation (three days on, three days off, three nights on, three nights off; 12-hour shifts)
  • You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use of ladders and working on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined
  • You primary residence must be within 60km of Fort McMurray
