Job Overview

Reporting to the lead, planning and scheduling, you will identify and manage all factors relevant to achieving safe, environmentally responsible and cost effective maintenance planning within energy and utilities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Identify and follow all our environment health and safety policies, standards and procedures
  • Work closely with various teams across Suncor to develop seamless interfaces between functions, to enable the safe, consistent and reliable planning and scheduling of all maintenance activities
  • Improve resource productivity by identifying parts, materials, special tools, external services, rentals and documentation
  • Prepare job plans with the planned cost ready for scheduling detailing parts, materials, special tools, external services and documentation
  • Prepare job plans to include the logical sequencing of associated tasks, taking into account multi-craft alignment
  • Maintain, improve and optimize our job plans, task lists, strategies and procedures through continuous improvement initiatives and techniques 

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Five or more years of experience in maintenance planning and scheduling and/or maintenance reliability in an industrial setting;  experience in fixed plant utilities or water treatment is an asset
  • Mechanical trade certificate or diploma in a relevant technical field or equivalent technical and operational experience
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (preferably SAP) and material management systems
  • Deep understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling concepts as well as maintenance practices, performances measures, scheduling tools and techniques
  • You  constantly interact with others across a multitude of business units and effectively communicate with them to develop positive working relationships
  • You are a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to make decisions with integrity and support company objectives and policies
  • You continually seek greater knowledge about the systems, processes and hazards

Working Conditions

  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory
  • Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible candidates
