Job Overview

If you have extensive maintenance planning experience, this will be the perfect role for you. Reporting to the lead planner, mine mobile equipment maintenance, you will identify and handle all factors relevant to achieving safe, environmentally responsible and cost effective maintenance planning.

Key Accountabilities

  • Identify and follow all of our environment health and safety policies, standards and procedures
  • Maximize and improve resource productivity by identifying and coordinating the supply of parts, materials, special tools, external services and rental equipment while preparing relevant documentation
  • Prepare job plans with the planned cost ready for scheduling detailing parts, materials, special tools, external services and documentation
  • Work closely with various teams to develop seamless interfaces between functions, to enable the safe, consistent and reliable planning of all maintenance activities
  • Prepare job plans to include the logical sequencing of associated tasks, taking into account multi-craft alignment with the planned cost ready for scheduling
  • Maintain, improve and optimize our job plans, task lists, strategies and procedures through continuous improvement initiatives and techniques
  • Ensure compliance to all our relevant policies and standards including the management of change (MOC) process and maintenance business processes and provide input into the development of procedures and standards

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • 10 years of experience working in oil and gas, mining or a similar industrial environment
  • Five years of planning experience; maintenance and/or reliability experience in mobile equipment maintenance is preferred
  • Mechanical trade certificate or diploma in a relevant technical field or equivalent technical and operational experience
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (preferably SAP) and material management systems
  • Deep understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling concepts as well as maintenance practices, performances measures, scheduling tools and techniques
  • Exhibit a strong safety mindset and display a preventative and contingency based approach to planning with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Capable of handling several tasks while focusing on quality and completion of deliverables
  • Exceptional communication and social skills, with the ability to work professionally with others at various levels in the organization
  • Highly motivated self-starter that makes decisions with integrity and supports company objectives and policies

Working Conditions

  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory
  • Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible candidates
