Reliability Engineer, Data Systems

Job Overview

Reporting to the lead, predictive maintenance, you will deploy, implement and maintain integrated equipment health monitoring systems, data mining tools and prognostics strategies. You will ensure the effective utilization of technology for data sharing and processing to provide timely and accurate analysis and digital insights to solve complex problems.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain machine learnings and data mining solutions to support maintenance and reliability processes
  • Maintain and deliver consistent uptime and reliability of systems software and hardware
  • Implement machine learning solutions to support mobile equipment predictive health monitoring and defect elimination strategies
  • Develop information technology (IT) and networking scopes of work for implementation of condition monitoring systems
  • Liaise with corporate IT and mine network administration teams
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop solutions
  • Participate in implementing reliability improvement initiatives in conjunction with multi-functional asset teams
  • Lead technical meeting and small projects from conception through to implementation
  • Design and develop scope of work for system updates and improvements

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Two or more years of experience administering and configuring databases such as servers and operating systems configuration, VMWare and network issue diagnoses
  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as machine learning applications, SSRS, SSIS and Dashboards
  • Experience in heavy industry, process plants and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is an preferred
  • Engineering or science degree; degree in computer software or information systems is desirable
  • Registered or immediately eligible for registration with the association of professional engineers and geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) as a professional engineer
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in programming language such as SQL, Powershell, C#, VB.NET and VBA
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with a working knowledge of SAP
  • Well-developed critical thinking, with an ability to apply logic and challenge assumptions
  • Strong analytical skills including analyzing SAP data, conducting root cause assessment and drawing and presenting conclusions and recommendations
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and integrated team environment
  • You collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value

Working Conditions

  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory
  • Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible candidates
