Reliability Engineer, Mine Mobile Equipment

Job Overview

In this temporary position, reporting to the lead, predictive maintenance, you will interpret and provide maintenance recommendations based on data analysis coming from the mine mobile equipment onboard systems and predictive maintenance techniques such as oil analysis, non-destructive testing and wear analysis.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure the effective utilization of technology for data sharing and processing to provide timely and accurate analysis and data insights
  • Participate in implementing reliability improvement initiatives in conjunction with multifunctional asset teams
  • Develop and maintain machine learning and data mining solutions to support maintenance and reliability processes
  • Develop trends, snapshots, histograms and customized events, by using the mine mobile equipment onboard control systems parameters and calculated limits
  • Develop database solutions and analytical reports
  • Investigate and identify mobile equipment health parameters to monitor by using a wireless approach
  • Analyze and interpret the mine mobile equipment onboard systems data, and oil analysis to provide recommendations to maintenance based on trend values
  • Lead technical meetings and small projects from conception through to implementation
  • Provide support and coach maintenance personnel to perform remote troubleshooting.
  • Take part in root cause and reliability analysis initiatives

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Four or more years of reliability and/or condition based monitoring experience; experience with mine mobile equipment is preferred
  • Experience with modular minecare, oil analysis and failure analysis; experience with Komtrax, CENSE, Invertex, PLM, VIMS, MEMS or other OEM control systems is an asset
  • Bachelor degree in engineering, degree in mechanical engineering is preferred
  • Registered or immediately eligible for registration with the association of professional engineers and geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) as a professional engineer
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in programming language such as SQL, VB.NET, HTML
  • Well-developed critical thinking, with an ability to apply logic and challenge assumptions
  • Strong analytical skills including analyzing SAP data, conducting root cause assessment and drawing and presenting conclusions and recommendations
  • You are a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to make decisions with integrity and support company objectives and policies
  • You collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value

Working Conditions

  • Your primary residence must be within 60 km of Fort McMurray
  • This is a temporary position for a period of 12 months
