Supervisor, Mobile Cranes

Job Overview

Reporting to the manger, equipment, you will be responsible to oversee the day to day activities of the crane crews of the support services team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Dispatch, supervise and coordinate transportation services
  • Manage crane contractors and work execution
  • Scope jobs and recommend crane size and configurations
  • Ensure to compliance with environment, health and safety standards
  • Confirm the safety and environmental integrity of the cranes
  • Report and assist in the investigation of all incidents to closure
  • Verify all checks for any critical lift with mobile cranes by supporting the crane lift review team
  • Basic administrative computer work and duties

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Five or more years of front line leadership experience with cranes in an industrial setting
  • Experience leading in a unionized environment
  • Valid Alberta Journeyman Crane Certificate or an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Crane Certificate
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of crane operations and technical knowledge
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Dedicated to promoting a strong safety culture
  • You constantly ask what could go wrong and check for unusual conditions and learn to anticipate potential problems
  • Proficient in SAP

Working Conditions

  • This position has been identified as safety sensitive
  • The shift schedule is a 5 days on/ 4 days off rotation
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory
  • Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible candidates
