The role includes: collaboration with multiple sites across the region, actively working with maintenance leaders and hands on workers through the delivery of competency management programs and courses by transferring knowledge; reporting, stewardship, monitoring, record-keeping and archiving of training and development related information; and ongoing alignment with other peer groups. . Reporting to the Manager – Maintenance Learning, you will maintain high standards and processes in coordinating and prioritizing electrical training in our fixed plant.
 You will use your expertise to:
• Ensure processes related to providing training and development support to the Oil Sands Fix Plant functions are effective and delivered seamlessly. In a way that develops strong, positive and trusted relationships across internal and external stakeholder groups
• Support improvement of Fixed plant Electrical training and development and related procedures to support a culture of accountability and does not sacrifice the long term for the short term
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of the organization, company operations and policies and detailed knowledge of the departmental procedures within functional area
• Demonstrates strong leadership, coaching, planning and organizational skills so that projects can be managed within tight timelines
• Demonstrates advance understanding of needs analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of learning programs
• Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to create an environment that fosters high performance, innovation, learning and initiative
• Communicate effectively in visual, oral, and written form
• Engage and align with area leaders to adjust business practices to improve service delivery, performance, and business results
• Manages special projects that require analytical, research and leadership skills
• Acts as a primary contact for issues and problems related to specialized programs
• Manage vendor onboarding and collaborate regionally when offering Vendor Training

We’d like to review your application if you have…
Must-haves (minimum requirements):

• An Alberta Journeyperson Certificate or an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson Certificate
• NERC certification with a history of design and management of NERC approved training for certification
• Understanding of industrial Electrical maintenance practices
• A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Alignment with our values: safety above all else, stronger together, operational discipline, curiosity and lifelong learning, and act with integrity
Preference for:
• A background in Electrical and Instrumentation trades
• Certification in Adult Education
• Strong understanding of LMS or related experience in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
• Previous experience in maintenance training and development business processes and ongoing supervision
• Exceptional technical, decision-making and analytical skills
• Attention to detail and a commitment to consistency and quality
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to respond to challenging deadlines
• Strong computer skills including SAP, Excel and Word
• High motivation to achieve the best results and deliver the most value with the employees you will be training
• Strong communication skills to form relationships with diverse groups of people

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:
• You will work out of our Base Plant Operations in Fort McMurray, Alberta
• The shift schedule is a seven days on / seven days off rotation
• This position is safety sensitive
