You will use your expertise to:

  • Improve the quality and production of treated tailings operations
  • Collaborate with tailings planning, reclamation and mine groups to oversee and implement strategies
  • Lead process optimization initiatives within the cross-functional team (CFT)
  • Assign work and assist employees with planning and prioritization
  • Ensure team members receive development, training and resources to properly perform their roles
  • Mentor your team and create an environment of trust that promotes engagement
  • Provide troubleshooting support and support all incident investigations
  • Provide support on regulatory commitments

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • An engineering degree or significant scientific/research experience with a corresponding masters or PhD
  • 12 years of related experience
  • Three years of front line leadership experience
  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving

  • Strong collaboration skills that enables you to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups
  • Strong communication skills and a high level of integrity
  • A continuous improvement mindset and are able to seek greater knowledge and understanding of the systems, process and hazards in the workplace

Preference for:

  • A degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • This position is safety sensitive
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory. Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible individuals
