Turnaround Maintenance Planner

Reporting to the turnaround lead planner, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling all turnaround activities as efficiently and as cost effectively as possible.

 

You will use your expertise to:

  • Maximize resource productivity by identifying parts, materials, special tools, external services, rentals and documentation
  • Identify environmental health and safety requirements
  • Prepare job plans to include the logical sequencing of associated tasks, taking into account multi-craft alignment
  • Obtain and review historical records of previously executed turnaround jobs
  • Monitor and maintain a continual update of the work requirements and requests, paying special attention to contracts and projects being run simultaneously
  • Provide input for the turnaround schedule using SAP and Primavera so progress and completion requirements can be reviewed
  • Review work scope change requests prior to their introduction into the proposed schedule and the turnaround plan
  • Collaborate on post-turnaround activities, review plans and associated monitoring
  • Prepare a summary of actual duration of individual jobs for submission to cost control to enable them to complete the budget reconciliation.
  • Itemize actual data for use in future turnarounds or other maintenance work estimates and planning situations

We’d like to review your application if you have…

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Five or more years of experience in planning and coordinating turnaround activities in the oil and gas industry
  • Rotating equipment experience is an asset
  • Valid Alberta Journeyman or Interprovincial Red Seal Mechanical Trade Certification
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

Preference for:

  • Proficient with Primavera, SAP and Microsoft Office products, including Word, Visio and Excel
  • Expert knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems and material management systems
  • Deep understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling concepts as well as maintenance practices, performances measures, scheduling tools and techniques
  • Detailed and thorough knowledge of production equipment and control systems, and plants and facilities in the oil and gas industry
  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to work professionally with other team members at various levels
  • Highly motivated self-starter that will maintain positive relationships across different teams, and make decisions with integrity in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Base Plant  in Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with extended work hours based on business needs
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory. Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible individuals
