As part of our dynamic Supply, Trading and Optimization (ST&O) team, you will use your expertise to facilitate the global transportation of refined products, including maintaining supply and quality. You will be responsible for nominating, preparing document instructions, and working with our middle and back office to ensure positions are updated and correct. This is an opportunity for you to implement, and lead short-term strategies that enable the optimization of Suncor’s integrated model from refineries down to customers while prioritizing safety.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Support international refined products traders in preparation of tenders, inventory management, load windows, etc.
  • Nominate and clear vessels with all 3rd parties for export cargoes and collaborate with Marine Operations as required
  • Discuss blending/sampling plans with our Refinery and Traders
  • Maintain close working relationship with Marine Operations to ensure vessels arrive on time
  • Manage documentation instructions for all exports of refined products; review/approve documentation related to exports (BOLs, Certification of Original, COA, COQ, etc.)
  • Collaborate with customers to narrow laycans in support of our inventory and dock schedules and to minimize delays
  • Schedule and maintain positons in our scheduling system

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Five years of related experience within an integrated energy company
  • Experience in refined products marine scheduling
  • Strong commumnication skills in Spanish (oral and written)
  • A Bachelor's degree
  • Strong SAP/CXL and Excel skills
  • Negotiation skills, and clear, concise written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to adapt to competing demands and shifting priorities
  • Analytical and investigative skills to determine root cause and ensure lessons learned and opportunities realized
  • Strong interpersonal skills and are customer focused when dealing with stakeholders
  • Non-authoritative leadership skills with the ability to influence effectively
  • Alignment with our values: safety above all else, stronger together, operational discipline, curiosity and lifelong learning, and act with integrity

Preference for:

  • Operations and/or field experience
  • Bilingualism in Portuguese
  • Have knowledge of, or have scheduled refined product pipelines (Colonial, Explorer, Magellan)

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Houston office in Two Allen Center, located at 1200 Smith Street, Suite 890, Houston TX 77002.  Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday with on-call requirements in the evenings and over the weekends
