Job Overview

Are you passionate about safety, building positive relationships, working within a positive team environment, and possess strong integrity? If so, then we have the role for you! In this part-time role, you will be responsible for safely and reliably operating fuel handling within the Kamloops terminal.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain awareness for personal and co-workers’ safety, immediately address and report hazardous situations, and ensure knowledge and compliance with our safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Manage fuel material integrity by safely and timely transferring products via rail offloading racks and fuel trucks
  • Receive products into the terminal
  • Conduct sampling and testing as per the schedule or when required by quality issues
  • Maintain and exchange a detailed account of the day’s activities and actions taken to mitigate risks and to ensure optimal shift transitions
  • Conduct inspections of terminal operating and safety equipment as well as rail rack operation
  • Support the terminal operation to improve our safety culture and overall safety performance on our Journey to Zero
  • Participate in emergency situations including fires and spills as required

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Railcar and truck liquid product handling experience is an asset
  • Preference for experience operating pumping systems, tankage automation and related terminal equipment
  • Completion of your transportation of dangerous goods (TDG) and workplace hazardous material information systems (WHMIS) certifications is preferred
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED); post-secondary education is  preferred
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficient computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite and experience working with computerized equipment
  • Knowledge of finished product specifications
  • Proven safety and continuous improvement mindset with the ability to actively participate in all safety initiatives
  • You have strong communication skills, work well independently or within diverse groups
  • You possess strong organizational, prioritization, decision-making and analytical skills

Working Conditions

  • This position has been identified as safety sensitive
  • This part-time role shift schedule is based on business needs, so your flexibility is required
  • This position is eligible for overtime
  • You possess the physical capabilities to safely perform all essential aspects and responsibilities of the role as well as work in an all-weather outdoor environment while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
