Job Overview

In this temporary role, reporting to the team leader, marketing communications, you will be responsible for the design, development, implementation and ongoing support of 1:1 communications programs (email, direct mail, etc.), working closely with internal stakeholders and external agency partners.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work with key stakeholders to develop effective, coordinated and integrated 1:1 marketing strategies
  • Manage the 1:1 marketing communication plan including contact strategy, segmentation and targeting, offer testing and content and creative optimization
  • Contribute to developing offers, determining offer structure and building business cases to support offer recommendations
  • Contribute to detailed analysis across programs, campaigns and make actionable recommendations for improvement
  • Manage the 1:1 communications budget
  • Manage internal processes and logistics, backend support development and fulfillment processes to support 1:1 campaigns
  • Centralize results and learning for past campaigns

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Four to six years of business experience, preferably in marketing with two or more years of experience in a direct marketing role with a direct marketing agency, loyalty program or corporate direct marketing role 
  • Experience in all aspects of direct marketing, from creative development through post-campaign analysis and also in developing creative briefs with campaign objectives, brand integration, copy and design recommendations
  • Experience in both e-mail and direct mail execution, loyalty programs and campaign management as well as program deployment and campaign metrics tracking
  • Experience managing and working with direct response and digital marketing agencies
  • Post-secondary education; High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Skilled in optimizing promotional content to drive response rates, forecast realistic metrics for all programs and manage programs to business objectives to ensure direct marketing success
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and work on multiple campaigns at the same time
  • Very customer focused with excellent communication skills
  • Excellent project management and strategic management skills
  • Strong analytical skills and non-authoritative leadership skills

Working Conditions

  • This is a temporary position for a period of 12 months
