Analyst, Inventory Reconciliation

Job Overview

Reporting to the coordinator, inventory reconciliations, you will be responsible for inventory control at our terminal operations via pipeline, truck, rail and marine.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform investigations on product volume discrepancies between Toptech and SAP, and mitigate any environmental and product loss issues
  • Ensure accurate billing of products and volumes to our customers
  • Communicate daily with terminal staff regarding routine checks and unusual concerns
  • Identify, test and implement process improvements as well as directing junior reconciliation analysts
  • Lead stock management for new products such as ethanol and biodiesel
  • Prepare and file reports on a daily, monthly and quarterly basis
  • Follow appropriate internal and SOX audit processes for inventory accounting
  • Manage customer accounts, carriers, and products in our designated TopTech rack system
  • Interact with cross-functional departments such as marketing, credit, and supply accounting

 Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Five or more years’ of experience in accounting or related field
  • Oil and gas experience considered an asset
  • Post-secondary education is preferred
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

 Skills and Knowledge:

  • Previous SOX experience would be beneficial
  • Proficient in Microsoft office, SAP, and Toptech considered an asset
  • Knowledge of our terminal operations preferred
  • You are a self-starter who takes the initiative to trouble-shoot and solve problems as they arise
  • You collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • You have a strong attention to detail, are well organized and do not tolerate shortcuts
