Job Overview

Are you passionate about building positive relationships, problem solving, working within a positive team environment, and possess strong integrity then we have the role for you. Reporting to the senior advisor, preventative maintenance, you will be responsible for the scope development, coordination, monitoring and auditing of Suncor service providers.

Key Accountabilities

  • Act as a single point of contact for terminal contractors and develop scopes of work for the maintenance of facilities and terminal equipment
  • Manage the pre-mobilization and prequalification of contractors, onboarding, training and orientation, site and job specific training, pre-job planning and hazard reviews
  • Complete safety and shop audits, conduct work permit evaluations and participate and promote safety initiatives
  • Manage the progress of work: issues, scope creep and non-conformances
  • Strive to ensure that hazards associated with completing maintenance activities are accounted for in the scope development phase
  • Improve the demobilization of contractors by developing and implementing processes to verify quality of work completed, management of purchase orders (PO) and lessons learned
  • Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis to focus on continuous improvement strategies
  • Build positive relationships within operations to ensure work prioritization and optimization

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Three or more years of experience in facility, field or plant experience
  • Experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, and dealing with the maintenance of hydrocarbon handling equipment preferred
  • Deep knowledge and interpretation of regulations, engineering specifications, scope of work documents and field reports as they related to terminal operation and facilities is an asset
  • Post-secondary education preferred
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

  • You are an effective teammate with a proven history of collaborating with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • You have strong communication skills to build positive relationships with a diverse group of people competing for resources
  • You have the ability to engage with all levels of area management, staff and workforce
  • Strong technical, decision-making and analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills including SAP, Excel and Word

 Working Conditions

  • This position is based in Mississauga
  • As we operate on a 24/7 basis you will be responsible for supporting emergencies off-hours on occasion
  • Travel required as your time will be split 30/70 with field and office based work
