Marketing Communications Specialist (Petro-Canada)

You will utilize your strong non-authoritative leadership and communication skills to collaborate with internal and external partners to lead and develop key marketing and communication processes, planning, as well as managing branding projects. 

You will use your expertise to:

  • Enable the Communications team to deliver targeted improvements to service levels through enhanced processes, effective communications and cost/time savings initiatives (e.g. supplier efficiencies, KPI targets)
  • Facilitate the annual integrated planning process for the marketing communications team in partnership with our agencies
  • Track all projects, budgets, and improve resource allocation; identify constraints and enable better prioritization of decisions
  • Create ongoing continuous improvement tactics to our communication processes and underlying support processes
  • Develop and lead the process to onboard new business owners and new Communications employees
  • Steward, maintain, and develop branding guidelines, documentation and processes with key stakeholders across our retail and wholesale business
  • Partner with creative agencies to project manage and lead branding/communication projects
  • Identify agency efficiencies and assist with maintaining and managing agency / vendor contracts (i.e. retainers)

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Five years of business experience including project management
  • Experience building, tracking, documenting, and improving processes
  • A University degree in business or a related discipline  
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management with a proven ability to build positive relationships with business owners and external agencies
  • Strategic skills to understand strategy and use it to influence decisions
  • Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing

Preference for:

  • Marketing communications and/or branding experience
  • Experience working in sales and marketing

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Downstream head office in Mississauga, located at 2489 North Sheridan Way
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • This is a temporary position for a period of approximately 21 months
