Working out of our Metro Depot terminal in North York, you will be responsible for monitoring the loading the facility via intercom, phone, radios, and various systems, relaying the information accurately to the on-duty terminal operator. You will also troubleshoot and check and sign off on ethanol receipts and handle courier deliveries.

 

You will use your expertise to:

  • Receive and file completed work permits and paperwork
  • Navigate and troubleshoot Terminal Management System (TMS) driver, rack and trailer issues to determine proper solutions
  • Reset TMS alarms with terminal operator assistance
  • Oversee the monitoring of security cameras, yard activities and safety observations from the tower
  • Record sample information in the data management system
  • Provide administrative support for terminal supervisor
  • Receive and verify ethanol Bill of Landing (BOL) before offloading and maintain BOL printers
  • Clearly communicate instructions, assistance, etc. via intercoms, radios and telephone
  • Ship and receive packages
  • Create driver cards

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Current enrolment in a formal co-op program at an accredited post-secondary institution, and returning to full-time studies after the work term

Preference for:

  • Certified First Aid/ CPR, portable defibrillator
  • WHMIS and Transportation of Dangerous Goods
  • A self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset who is results oriented and motivated by accuracy

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our North York location, located at 1138 Finch Ave W
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • This is a 4-month work term, from May 2019 – September 2019
