Project Economics Manager

If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you to lead our economic Centre of Excellence (COE) for the Downstream business unit, and with your team, develop and steward all economic models for our large strategy and development projects.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Lead a team of analysts to execute, develop and maintain economic evaluation models across the project portfolio
  • Build effective and productive relationships with multiple business areas to help guide and empower them to make decisions
  • Interpret business / project requirements and drive business decisions to enable production of a robust economic model that aligns with the business objectives
  • Support the implementation and execution of our new project stage-gate methodology (ADEM), and associated deliverables related to project economics
  • Develop and continually refine economic evaluation procedures and practices working in partnership with our enterprise economics team
  • Deliver economic evaluation training programs to build economic acumen and ensure consistent application across the Downstream business
  • Enable the capital planning and portfolio management processes through delivery of timely and accurate project economics in collaboration with internal partners

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • 10 years of progressive leadership and management experience
  • Proven experience building and supporting economic models and working with business partners to drive strategic insights and make decisions
  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, engineering or a related discipline
  • Deep knowledge of finance and accounting principles and concepts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the proven ability to deliver messaging suitable for senior management and multi-discipline teams
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with superior critical thinking ability; strong aptitude for numerical analysis at both a high-level and detailed context
  • Exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills and you are able to thrive in a fast-past deadline driven environment
  • Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing

Preference for:

  • A CFA designation
  • A broad understanding of the Downstream oil and gas business
  • Investment banking experience

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Downstream head office in Mississauga, located at 2489 North Sheridan Way
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
