Project Leader, Tank Management Program

Job Overview

Do you enjoy providing technical guidance and mentoring others, building positive relationships, problem solving, and do you possess strong integrity? If so, then we have the role for you! Reporting to the manager, engineering and automation, you will be responsible for the management and coordination of storage tank inspection and repair program.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support our Journey to Zero safety culture by ensuring we always operate within our safe operating limits
  • Lead all phases of assigned projects from idea generation to design, execution and commissioning, while finding opportunities to reduce risk and costs and increasing operational reliability, safety and environmental performance
  • Manage overall coordination of storage tank inspections and maintenance as per distribution tank integrity management program
  • Accountable for project deliverables for assigned projects which include development of repair scopes and construction work packages with support from internal and external technical resources
  • Perform technical reviews and evaluations of engineered drawings, reports and proposals, and equipment design and specification
  • Coordinate and liaise with diverse groups including terminal operations, facility engineering, supply chain management and coordinate project execution with general contractors
  • Provide project stewardship to distribution leadership team and partners on progress and plans
  • Build strong positive relationships to employ continuous improvement principles to solve broad, complex problems and apply learnings to tank integrity management program

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Seven or more years of experience with execution of projects in oil and gas in addition to static equipment integrity management or operations background
  • University degree in mechanical engineering, technical diploma or equivalent education
  • Professional engineer designation preferred
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

 Skills and Knowledge:

  • Highly motivated, dynamic, self-starter with strong verbal and written communication skills and non-authoritative leadership ability
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary, integrated team environment and build positive relationships
  • Creative problem-solver with strong trouble-shooting, analytical skills and continuous improvement mindset
  • You are a highly motivated, self-starter who possesses strong communication skills, and is able to contribute effectively in a team environment. You value integrity and hold others accountable and expect others to do the same with proven project management experience leading construction projects

  • You thrive in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities, challenging demands, and strict deadlines that requires quick and decisive decision-making
  • This role requires you to working in an outdoor industrial plant setting in all seasons of the year as well as business travel
